Co-12 is a premium gas-atomized cobalt-chromium-tungsten carbon alloy powder, specially optimized for HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) thermal spraying, plasma spraying, laser cladding and PTA hardfacing processes. As an upgraded intermediate grade between Co-06 and Co-01, Co-12 features higher carbide content and superior hardness, delivering outstanding abrasion, erosion and high-temperature wear resistance for heavy-duty industrial component surface protection .
Product Overview & Chemical Composition
Co-12 cobalt alloy powder includes a rational proportion of cobalt, chromium, tungsten and carbon elements, which contains more hard carbide phases, effectively improving anti-abrasion and low-angle erosion performance, while maintaining excellent coating toughness and thermal stability .

Manufactured by gas atomization technology, the powder presents a uniform spherical morphology with high purity, low oxygen content and excellent fluidity, ensuring stable feeding and dense coating formation during HVOF spraying .

Co-12 HVOF powder is designed for extreme working conditions combining high temperature, severe abrasion and impact load, with stable performance up to 700°C .
- High Hardness & Superior Wear Resistance: The rich hard carbide phases endow the coating with higher hardness than Stellite 6, providing excellent resistance to particle abrasion, low-angle erosion and mechanical scuffing .
- Excellent High-Temperature Stability: Maintains stable hardness and oxidation resistance at 650–700°C, avoiding rapid performance degradation of ordinary tool steels under high-temperature conditions .
- Cavitation & Corrosion Resistance: The cobalt-chromium matrix delivers good resistance to water cavitation, medium corrosion and thermal fatigue, suitable for long-term service in fluid erosion environments .
- Dense Coating & High Bonding Strength: Spherical powder fits HVOF high-speed flame flow perfectly, producing low-porosity, crack-free coatings with strong mechanical bonding to metal substrates .
- Good Toughness & Impact Resistance: Balanced carbide and matrix structure prevents coating peeling and fracture under cyclic impact and alternating load conditions .
