Al7075 (AA7075) additive manufacturing powder (AlZnMgCu alloy) is an aviationgrade highstrength aluminum alloy material specially designed for 3D printing. It is tailored for SLM/DMLS/EBM processes, featuring ultrahigh specific strength, lightweight performance, and high fatigue resistance. It is widely used in structural components for aerospace, highend automotive, and military industries.
Aluminum Alloy 7075 is an ultrahighstrength AlZnMgCu alloy and a typical representative of 7xxx series wrought aluminum alloys. With zinc as the primary alloying element, plus magnesium, copper, chromium and other components, it delivers extremely high strength, favorable mechanical properties, and excellent lowtemperature performance. As one of the strongest commercially available aluminum alloys, its tensile strength is comparable to mild steel, while its low density gives it exceptional specific strength.
7075 aluminum alloy was originally developed by Alcoa (Aluminum Company of America) in the 1930s and first used in military aircraft during World War II, such as the B29 Superfortress. With technological advancements, it has been widely adopted in aerospace, transportation, machinery manufacturing, highend electronics and other fields. However, it also has limitations including relatively poor weldability and sensitivity to stress corrosion cracking, which can be improved through processes such as cladding and duplex aging.
