CuP8 is a copper-phosphorous brazing alloy, with excellent flow properties. It can be used to join copper to copper or copper based base materials. Copper-phosphorus brazing filler has been widely used in brazing copper and copper alloys due to its good process performance and low price. The addition of phosphorus can reduce the melting point of the solder and play a role in self-brazing when brazing copper in the air. Copper-phosphorus brazing filler has low melting point, good fluidity, and soldering stability close to that of silver brazing filler. It also has the advantages of self-brazing and low price. It is an ideal material for brazing copper and copper alloys in the temperature range of 500-800℃ to replace silver-based brazing filler. Copperphos brazing alloys are designed to braze copper-to-copper and copper-to-brass assemblies. The presence of phosphorus acts as a fluxing agent during the braze process and deoxidizes copper.
